You are right but ultimately it was his decision and at the end of the match he made a sweeping action with his arm to indicate to Bellamy how Berger had handled the ball, which is not what Berger did as proved by the tv reply that Jones viewed from the monitor.

Agreed, but all a lot of fans are doing is expressing surprise that such a brilliant manager appears to us mortals to be making some strange choices or the same errors are continuing to be made on this learning curve.

I heard in VKs post match interview on radio lancs that a player should not go to ground like Vitinho did today in the penalty area.But Al - Dakhil did against Newcastle, Bayer did against Luton, it could easily have been 3 penalties not two. A bit ambivalent regarding Maatsen in the premier league. He doesn’t seem good enough defensively as a left back nor quite good enough as winger. Although I am sure VK would find a niche for him. But think we could sign a better player for £15m never mind £30m.
