I’m still to understand what offence was committed by the attacking team. Anywhere else on the pitch that is play on so why, just because someone dives and then remonstrates with the incompetent ref, does it become an offence....

Re: Var needs to be put in professional hands
The "professionals" are also ****. Most of them haven't played football at a decent level. It's mind boggling that hardly any ex players have tried their hand at reffing. That says something in itself. And I don't mean because it's a hard job. It's not what the institute want. That decision yesterd...

Re: Var needs to be put in professional hands
VAR is already in professional hands. Not knowing this only proves how little knowledge a considerable percentage of fans have. The percentage of players and fans who don’t know the laws of the game is remarkably high and suggesting that a panel consisting of a player, a manager and a ref means tha...

Re: Var needs to be put in professional hands
VAR is in professional hands - people that are paid for being poor.... Every week we see examples of the laws of the game being applied incorrectly because they know the laws but don’t understand the game. So yesterday: Watford man is fouled in the box. Law of game is penalty. No pen given by profes...

Re: Time to get rid of VAR
Just heard SD give his opinion on the Chris Wood/Johnny Evans incident. Two points. Whether Evans would have got to the ball is completely irrelevant. A kick or a trip does not have to be deliberate. The only ‘deliberate’ offence is deliberate handball. There is no offence of deliberate kicking or ...

I thought he was saying he was 50 yards away from the VAR screen and sarcastically suggesting that was too far for him to bother checking Moss was poor today - he always is - but he did give the goal and then probably thought “I’ll let VAR decide because usually I am actually wrong” Could have been...

Re: Time to get rid of VAR
I've watched it in slow/pause motion on you tube and as the defender is about to kick it away, wood catches his foot and stops him kicking it. From the angle behind the goal (youtube PL footage) it looks as if he could have cleared it, in that case VAR was right. I haven't seen the action from side...

George Ford dropped for Saturday which seems surprising, I thought he'd been playing well.
