I agree with ksr and quite a few other posters , WE MUST STRENGTHEN OUR MIDFIELD . There's nothing wrong with Cullen and Brownhill but we need more depth to cover injuries and suspensions .

Quite a few of us on here and most test cricket lovers in the uk , have said you must play your specialist wicketkeeper. For his sake and the teams , Bairstow must be left out for the next two . Come on England , I've no nails left !!

Re: Ashes third test
They really are stubborn or thick . Foakes averages over 30 for England and Bairstow bats far better when he's not got the responsibility of keeping . Missed catches and stumpings cost us the first game and could easily happen again .

Fantastic match and hopefully the next four games are as exciting but with England winning . Imo the declaration was a gamble ( especially with Root going well) , but if we'd of taken a couple of wickets in those last 4 overs , everyone would of said it was brilliant decision . What cost us this gam...

According to a couple of mates who are there , it really did seem dark and the umpires should of took them off earlier . No excuse for a poor shot by Duckett again . I know it's " Bazball " but at times you can leave the ball outside your off stump .

Re: Ashes Thread 2023
I don't think you can blame "mr do no wrong " for missed stumping , dropped catch and no balling ! You should always play a specialist wicket keeper instead of a make shift . Bairstows average for England is 37 , Foulkes is 32 . Bairstow should be in the squad as a batter and backup keeper .

My favourite player for Burnley. When he got the ball the longside used to "buzz" in anticipation. I tried to get my first lad to be christened Leighton James but the mrs wasn't having it . So he's called Michael Leighton James .
