Re: No sign of Culvert work being completed
The normal bus traffic route into the Bus station is now blocked off opposite the Keirby block. Road blocked off into town centre from the former roundabout. Croft street traffic has changed to two way. So cars coming up church street wanting to turn right into town can't access Croft street / Hall...

The roadworks at the bottom of Parliament Street have now finished and all traffic lights removed. Hopefully it should help with the footfall in the pubs under the culvert.

We were in one of the Lancashire mens leagues on Saturdays but we had a couple of older players of which Ray was one. For Sunday league I set up St Theodore’s Old Boys. Four divisions at the tim...

Remember going to my first ever game in September 1067 (I was 8 years old) with a couple of school pals whose dad took us to the Turf. Spurs were the current FA Cup holders and were on a 25 game unbeaten run. We stood at the front of the Longside leaning over the concrete wall at the front (on a li...

Re: Tales & Story’s your Grandparents told you about Burnley/Football
My Grandad was a barber and owned the barber shop on Yorkshire Street (opposite Plumbe St) from the 60’s until he retired around 1990 ish. All the players in the 60’s and 70’s used to get their hair cut there and we’re on first name terms with him, so he always had loads of stories to tell me! Alf ?

If it's a sink hole, I'd avoid driving down there and stick to the A roads around Towneley. As pointed out earlier, the Deer pond has been over recently, maybe that has caused it? You can always report it on "love clean streets" and that will go through to the engineers at Parker lane. Reported & k...
