Re: ARTICLE: The Brady link
Neil has already said that Brady will play tonight because he's his player and he's not interested whether he becomes cup tied for anyone else. He's just completed a three match ban and I think they will play him at left back with Olsson gone. Precisely. If they could do without him he'd be on his ...

Interesting. If Jason O'Connor knows his stuff it seems he wants to come to the Turf at the moment. The problem being that we have to wait for Norwich to sign a replacement which means we could be gazumped in the time that takes.

Re: "Burnley Fans are Racist" - The New Statesman
Hi martin, what do you think of DH's article? What do you think of my summary of the article and additional comments? (I think we've "done to death" Rowls choice of subject, grammar and the rest). Hi Paul. As I've said elsewhere on the thread I think it's a poor article that is far too 'black and w...

I don't know where you've got the idea that I ever said the article was "about Burnley fans". Sorry to bring up an internet trope but this is real Straw Man stuff. Well again, you've done exactly the same as Daniel Harris in your original post, I.e. You've strongly implied it, both in the thread ti...

He does, but if you think that makes the article about Burnley fans then you're deluded. It uses a match involving Burnley as an example, nothing more.Rowls wrote:Sorry martin but this simply is not true. He specifically mentions Burnley fans:

Agree with the main spirit of your last post but let's be entirely clear why you comparison between myself and Daniel Harris is NOT correct. 1. The context of my thread is derived from the context of his article. That should be clear from the OP and the linked article - I'm not the one who needs to...

Re: "Burnley Fans are Racist" - The New Statesman
I read the posts last night between 2am and 3am so perhaps some nuance in your posts escaped me? But here goes anyway. 1. "Linking" booing Sterling with 'racism' IS saying the Burnley fans who booed Sterling are 'racist'. 2. You can call my thread title "sensationalist" if you want but given the wo...

This is a very interesting question - did the author of the article also write the headline? If he didn't, does he approve of the headline? The headline is an unusual one - normally an article will reach a conclusion in the main body and the headline would perhaps pose a question to tempt the reade...

I'm not sure some people on this thread know what 'being offended' means as they seem to equate disagreeing with something or pointing out things he/she think are wrong with 'being offended'.

There is a bit of a difference.

You've got to be particularly over-sensitive to see this piece as any sort of attack on Burnley fans.
