I'd prefer our squad to be based on football ability rather than "diversity ratios" thanks. What would we need to fulfil some ideal diversity target exactly? That’s what people say about every team promotes from the Championship. You don’t know who they will sign so can’t claim that with any certainty. I appreciate that it's just my opinion that Collins looks to be a better prospect than Keane. I don't think anyone will offer to buy him for 25m right now but I'd argue that given the length of his contract and age people would probably know we would want more so that may be why. I was just trying to find out if you don't think many players are worth high fees, or just our players? Whether or not a player plays for us doesn't affect my judgement on their value. Collins is younger and already looks a much better player than Michael Keane who we got 25 million for over 5 years ago. Why is he worth less? What would you value him at? Cruciate injury is a long layoff, 6-9 months. He won't be fit until November-February, split the difference and say transfer window. He will barely play this season, and will likely not be match sharp til the following so while two years makes sense from that perspective it's a gamble that he'll still be up to it and I would hope comes with a significant wage cut. Not that I agree with the line up per se, but I don’t think the idea to go out to draw the first half and assess what was going on at Brentford was a bad idea.
