Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I was thinking today that we might not be far off done this window, but when you look at the teamsheet today and see that Genk had far more players in their matchday squad, I was wondered if we still might be 3-4 players light.

For all our youth system is criticised for not producing players for our first team, it’s certainly churning out far more players who make decent careers in the EFL than was the case 10 years ago. We’re also starting to command modest fees for players.

You might be right, bodies still to come in but in regards to our attacking fluidity I just don’t see kompany sending a player on from the bench he didn’t intend to use. I've got no problem with fans booing players that they are unhappy about playing for the club. It's football. It's fans. Personally I've never done it myself although if we had signed Simon Garner or David Dunn back in the day, I would have been sorely tempted. The club only have themselves to blam...

I don’t think Weghorst will be here on 2 September and I won’t be particularly disappointed, but until he goes we should support him (or at least refrain from booing him). For all we know he might be in VK’s plans. Whether he can cut it in the PL is a separate discussion to how he “behaved”. I suspe...

Sneer away about those criticising the boo boys if you like, but this is the exact opposite of the togetherness we’ll need next season.
If VK decides we need him, we need to back him.

It’d be a surprise if we signed any more attacking midfielders/wingers. We’ve now got Zaroury, Benson, Twine, JBG, Redmond and the young Italian to come in. Amdouni also supposedly likes to play no10.
Left back and central midfield would be the priorities for me from here, unless anyone leaves.

Didn’t quite follow the whole post, but if they’ve divided the cost (to you) of your season ticket by the number of home games, they’ve given you back what you paid for it. That seems fair.

Maatsen will be one of a number of targets for his position. He’s probably the preference because he’ll take less bedding in.
We’ll certainly be signing someone in his position I’d say. Can’t see VK wanting to start the season with Taylor or Vitinho there.

Fair play to Maatsen, but whether he comes here or not it seems highly unlikely that he’ll play much at Chelsea next season. Just look at their squad - they haven’t finished spending this summer.

I might be misreading this, but we do seem to have developed a clear strategy of identifying multiple acceptable targets and making it clear that we won’t be held to ransom, moving on quickly when it appears we’re into a bidding war or stand off. No idea, but if we can’t, we won’t stay up for long.
I suspect the average PL wage for a first team player is higher than £40k a week.
If that’s what Trafford will be on and it makes him one of our highest earners, it shows what we’re up against.

God forbid the Premier League & sports broadcasters could just have left Luton alone until they move to their new stadium.
Every single thing they are building now in the existing stadium will be bulldozed in the not too distant future.
Utterly pointless and unnecessarily disruptive.

He likes to hedge his bets, that’s for sure. Wout focussed on playing at Burnley, but still might be sold. TBH back our “radar”. Basically, they might happen, they might not.
