Re: Burnley v Huddersfield - Match Thread

This was a terrible moment. Should be scoring that all day long. But it just symbolises everything about the team at the moment. Just not quite at it. A bit short in every facet, in every department I'm resigned to relegation. Debt. And general decline Whilst at the same time being mocked by Rovers...

Re: Bands whose first album is/was their best

What does does mean? Personal favourite? I’d say The Strokes, but they’ve found their sound over the past 2-3 albums. Many just never grow up. Men in their 30’s/40’s still trying to reproduce songs/sounds from their youth is daft. Oasis is the clear one. Other bands just grow, like I mentioned The S...

Not the best idea to come out and say “We’ll be in the **** if we get relegated” is it?

What position would that put us in, in the summer when clubs are after our key players? “Hey AP, £10m for McNeil, we know you’re ******, either accept or we’re gone”.

That is factually incorrect. Did Pace have last January yes or no? He came in and first interview said they intend to strengthen last January and they did nothing. He did, but comparing last January to dozens of windows Garlick had is unfair. January is a difficult month. You can’t whinge about “de...

He’s had two transfer windows and signed one first team starter. He’s spent on average less than Garlick has per transfer window. Increased ticket prices. Got us in deep debt. Left us in a position where we have half our squad out of contract in 6 months during a relegation battle. Very exciting ti...

So to conclude, there is no evidence of exciting times. Just blind hope. The way the club is trying to improve off the field is exciting. AP is looking to move the club forward from the “little old Burnley” stuff. Most older fans don’t like that, they think the club is theirs and can’t be improved....

Personally I’d play 3 in the middle, McNeil as the deepest when we have possession in out final 3rd. He’s calmer on the ball, can receive it from the CHs and play as a sort of quarter back. When the ball is higher up drop Weatwood/Cork deeper and allow McNeil to push a bit higher. Would command a lo...

Glad someone else mentioned this. So, so frustrating. Was it too far out? Didn’t look it to me. Possibly was too far out. Even so, aim for the back post, have Wood, Tarks and Mee charging in to try get a head on it. Defending those is difficult. But to just float one in makes it all far too easy to...

Number 2. No idea. What got it for me from a players pov was the freekick at 2-1 down. Cornet had already bashed one in. The ball was dead for 2 minutes. Cornet want it again, only for Weatwood to float one in to nothing and Cork (I think) giving a freekick away. 2 minutes to decide on something and...
