The other complication is that if (as seems likely) Southampton are relegated they know he'll be an asset to them in the Championship - which might make them less accommodating - whatever Tella himself would prefer to do

Assuming they are not in a great place financially - which makes the four year deal for Appleton even more unfathomable

Of current out-of-work managers Cowley might be the best fit. Maybe not one for the purists but he has recent experience of getting Huddersfield out of a very similar predicament

Normal away allocation is 1900 apparently. As it's the FA cup think they have to offer us more but not sure we'd take them. Spoke to my Ipswich supporting friend - he said we will probably be offered an allocation of round 3k - but as you say the usual 1.9k might be enough especially if the KO time...

Other teams may well recognise a potential weakness but have yet to see anyone aside from Sheffield United equipped to impose their game on us

Jones best hope of saving Southampton is to try and introduce the 'pragmatic' style that worked for him at Luton

Went for my covid booster early in November and was offered a flu jab at the same time - so had both together. In and out of the surgery in less than 10 minutes

My arm ached for a couple of days and I felt a bit more tired than usual but as others have said got to be better than the alternative

You could argue loans of the calibre of THB, Maatsen and Tella are a statement of intent as far as a promotion bid is concerned

Josh Brownhill is an integral part of that. Far better chance of him staying than if we hadn't brought that quality into the squad

That United line up looks very solid for this level

They have the managerial edge on experience and for all the quality of Watford's front three their problems were at the other end last season. I didn't see much of them but whenever I did Bachmann was very poor

You can see how both full backs caught the eye in that performance as they constantly got forward

You could make an equally strong case for Cork and Cullen but assume they try and include players from as many different teams as possible

The key will be turning that superiority into goals

We can outplay any team but if like Friday we go into the final minutes with a one goal advantage you can't legislate for what might happen from a set play when the opposition commit bodies into the box
