Ok but looking forward to us strengthening the starting eleven. What was it ? two wins in the last 16 PL games last season ? Going to be even tougher this season I expect.

I'm probably a little more hesitant than some, by the looks of it, to write off the considerable loss of Keane. We're considerably weakened at the moment, need two or three quality signings for the first eleven, ideally younger players and not just ageing squad bloaters.

Kevin Long is a League One / lower end Championship player at best. He lasted about 4 games at the start of the 13/14 season before SD dropped him. I don't know if I'm being pessimistic or not, but that worries me. Especially with the run of away games we have at the start. Not quite as scary as the prospect of Kevin Long as immediate back up if we weren't to bring anyone in. Boden has suggested that we're after a defender but not neccessarily...

Wouldn't disagree with the O/P assessment of what is required in terms of personnel, pretty spot on infact. As above it's not what we spend it's who we spend it on, I would hope that any serious transfer fees would go on younger players, I wouldn't like to thing we would spend big money on creaky kn...

I fail to see the connection in Assombalonga coming in and Gray leaving. We need someone a bit different up front. If Gray leaves it means we're still in need of another striker. Is he that different to Gray ? If Gray stays we need a number 10 to offer something different. Then we would have a 9, 1...

Surprised to discover he's still at Arsenal, had assumed he had moved on. Whilst not number one priority, cover / competition at right back is certainly an area we need to improve on.
