I think it’s just two attacking midfield players. We’ve seen city do it a lot with de bruyne and David silva originally playing together in cm with just Fernandinho behind.

Roberts is fine. Jay looks a bit silly but who really cares. More important we try and get a centre forwards scoring again as it’s only the wingers at the moment.

I’m not against this but don’t particularly understand it. Foster is surely first choice as a proper all round forward. Obafemi doesn’t seem like someone who can play up top on his own either. Don’t see where he’ll play or where he’ll fit in.

Think it’s quite clear they can make it in the prem. Man Utd fans were praising benson after he looked as good as anyone on the pitch against them and today both were class against lower level prem side.

In terms of what we need most, ings would absolutely finish this side.
Who would fit best, Defour would be magical on the ball the amount we have it. Cornet would score loads but where would he play?

That wasn’t so much a ground out win. Yes we ended up 2-1 up after playing shite first half. But on balance after the second half we still deserved the win. Brownhill missed two huge chances and jay missed a sitter. Swansea didn’t create any chances as good as those 3.

He’s excellent. Ironically I think he’s most like a clone of Westwood. More technical on the ball than cork and marney, but has some bite defensively.

Westwood would be a great option to have behind them in this league but he’s off…

I was pleased. We look like we could challenge some prem sides already. Benson looks the absolute business. Went past premier league defenders just as easily as he does championship ones. I think we will see even more from him in future.

I saw the line up and thought Benson should be nailed on to start. But the way tella and JBG played, and Bensons rusty bench appearance proved me wrong. Kompany knows exactly what he’s doing. Benny obviously needs more minutes before he’s fully up to speed.

Zaroury and benson are a bit of a joke at this level. They genuinely beat their man 10 times a game it looks stupid.

I wonder what churlinov will be like whether he is similar. I think twine is a more technical less athletic type so maybe plays the brownhill role?

I imagine us only having 1 in there is a result of our rotation and large squad. Zaroury for example would be nailed on if you took the last 5 games when he’s been starting.

Suprised tella doesn’t make it though as he has played a lot. Maatsen as well, maybe THB.

Don’t know why his size is mentioned. He’s a tricky winger, he’s better small as it improves his agility. We’re not creating. Yes we scored but we just don’t look at all threatening with the ball against bottom of the league.

Zaroury hasn’t done anything but lose the ball. Benson at least sometimes beats his man. Get him on.

I’d love us to get a marquee striker like Obafemi in to go with all of the wingers/attacking midfielders we’ve got. Obafemi looks like he has some great attributes to me. Absolutely rapid and strong centre forward.

Muric 8 couple of very good saves and a couple of moves notably started from him. Roberts 6 Thought he was pretty quiet but did the job. THB 8 His passing is brilliant and he’s an excellent defender. Taylor 7 I actually like him at CB, good pace and decent passer which I’ve not really noticed of him...

Jay, tella and brownhill are the obvious ones at the moment. However I think the other wide player will also offer similar. I don’t yet know who that will be - JBG is class at this level but injury prone, Benson looks dangerous to me, Churlinov is highly rated and we look like signing a couple more…

Bit random but if I had to put money on anyone currently in the squad I’d go benson. Even though he was pretty average on Friday he’s pretty quick and has really impressive dribbling ability.

I’m sorry but I can’t think of a less exciting signing than churlinov at that price. He’s pretty bloody expensive and has 10 goals in his career, 7 of which came for Koln second team. Muric 5 didn’t have to make a save and distribution wasn’t safe. I’m fine with passing it out but a couple of his passes were suicidal. Roberts 6 got forward reasonably and did what he had to defensively. Couple of very good crosses. THB 7 Solid enough and I noticed he is very good at playing passes...

I agree - im not overly excited by tella. Would be a good buy but as a loan be probably won’t be a main player this year. He’s therefore only really blocking similar ability players like twine.

Good pace option though I suppose.

Found it interesting at the time. We’d been tracking Cucarella and Cornet for a while apparently and Cornet seemed to be a second choice. Similar players before last summer. Brownhill, Cork and Cullen is the best midfield in the league with Bastien and Westwood good extras.

It’s the defence and attack which needs completing before we can be confident.

I see it as right back, keeper, central midfield and one of left back/centre back sorted. Looks like he’ll want 1 more to fill the centre back/left back role, 1 more in the 2 attacking midfield positions and 1 more up top.
