Re: Newcastle United - £300 million
How the World has changed. I recall putting money into the 'Golden Gate' at the turnstiles towards the purchase of David Reeves who was on loan from either Bolton / Chesterfield / Carlisle. It would have been 1987ish. The 'Golden Gate' was an individual turnstile and fans queued to put their hard ea...

Re: Cardiff 0 Burnley 2 1992
Despite stating that I would never go to Cardiff again, I went down again last season. We won but it was a completely different experience . We walked into a pub near the ground which was rammed with home fans who made us feel welcome. How times change. This was over a period of decades not the chan...

Re: Cardiff 0 Burnley 2 1992
I was in the same minibus as 1fatclaret: The journey down took about a week in a 25 year old vehicle. We stopped for a few beers at a working men's club on the outskirts of town. I went for a slash and an OAP asked me if we were Burnley supporters. When I said yes he spat on my shoes. Arriving at th...

Re: Next redevelopment at the Turf .... ?
Capacity increase should be quite far down our list of priorities with regard to the ground. The JHS and JMS are rarely full. As has been said in many other posts, any increase in capacity will only result in more away fans attending.. We have created a good bit of an atmosphere in the CFS which has...

Re: Next redevelopment at the Turf .... ?
Re-roofing the CFS is surely not an option? The rear wall is buckling and cracks are plainly evident. I'm surprised that we get a safety certificate. It would be bonkers to try and replace the roof. Knock it down and start again. This doesn't need to be a massive project: Single tier, standing room ...

Got myself a ticket for the game. I have never seen Burnley there in the top division although I lived in Newcastle for a few years. Padiham FC offer half price entry to all home games for anyone with a Burnley FC season ticket.
They tend to kick off at 3:00pm on a Saturday so there is little chance that it will conflict with any Clarets fixtures.
£3. Give it a go.

I did the same as a (poor) Goalkeeper many moons ago.
My Centre Half dragged me off the ground with my dislocated limb and it popped back in.
Still had the tearing of the muscles, ligaments and tendons that go with it.
Physio for months afterwards.
