SD has a proven track record of turning those exact same players into very useful players. Some of his best signings were all struggling at their previous clubs!

Exactly!... And is why it's a risk not having any competition for that position, especially when it is covered by one of our most important players. The same principle applies to injuries.

There are workarounds I guess for that... They purchase players for the under-23 squad while SD still has a budget or they could split the transfer budget so SD gets a percentage choice of the transfer pot.
