Re: Away days in lower leagues
The greatest of times when it felt like Claret was flowing through the veins! Losing at Scarborough and fans wanting to be let out before half-time! Re: Away days in lower leagues
I personally went to follow the football and have a good day out. I was pretty incensed at mansfield and also had a lager too many. But the bother did add some spice back then when I was silly and stupid. I still think that those lower league days were great even though we were usually bobbins away ...

Re: Away days in lower leagues
there were a few tasty affairs. Mansfield away in the promotion season and Chesterfield away when Mumby scored in a one nil win. Burnden Park. It seemed to a teenage lad that 2 things usually happened when Burnley came to town. The prices on the turnstiles had been covered up and replaced with a ne...

Re: Away days in lower leagues
I used to like the run over to Scunthorpe, when they were at the old Showground. There's a village called Gunness (sp?) that had a few pubs which were always full of Clarets when we played. Lincoln and Walsall were favourites, too. Happy days indeed. Rather be playing Chelsea and United, etc, thoug...

Away days in lower leagues
I used to love those days. For me it was 80s and 90s. Just turn up with your cash and pay in. I remember when we played stafford in the cup. Me and my mates got their for 11am and all pubs were closed as not allowing burnley fans in. We knocked on door and landlord answered. He looked us over and le...

I have been in the home section when we have been away. To be honest if I had given it the big one in their end I would have accepted the consequences and not bleeted about it. It was the same last season against United. If they are stupid enough to sit in the home end (in a f’in Burberry shirt) and then even more stupid to celebrate the goal they deserve to be lynched. I don't get comments like "show some ambition" Moaning and groaning when we can't compete with clubs paying players 250k a week isn't showing ambition. It's just being a moaning twohat. I take it the people wanting ambition are not going to personally finance elite players. If you expect the club t...

The OP says now is the time to show our support but then starts criticising the players as not being good enough. Whilst we shouldn't lose sight of the fact we were at the bottom of Division 4 and I witnessed it this is the here and now. A business that was once great and then nearly goes bust does...

I read this as take a rest then come back with a fresh vigor in our attempt to smash a square peg into a round hole. There is no plan B because we didn’t get the players in that would offer an alternative and trusty mrg adds a negative twist to ANOTHER thread why not just ---- off and support rovers.

typical quickentempo, a negative reeply straight away. How about saying something positive instead, it takes just as long to type. the players named on current form/experience are below par and the team is doing poorly largely due to this. This wont always bethe case as our fully fit squad is strong...

Easy to support when things are going well. My wish was to not complicate a season which was always going to be tough. well I thought that was a good way to exit the competition we don't need. I might be up front for Moaners XI but even I think this is a ridiculous suggestion. Our Premier League survival just isn’t at stake yet. we have injured players and will gain more injuries through euro competition. I would like us to do well in europe but we simply must maintain our premiership status. generally we are at our best before christmas and rack up the points. We cannot allow europe to stop us from doing this.

However, HITC Sport understands there has been a breakthrough in the contract talks, and Burnely are confident Mee will sign a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
