Re: NED vs ARG
Isn’t Martinez a PL player? Hasn’t Otimendi played in the PL? Is the GK a PL player? Where wout is concerned, a lot of fans who were wrong about him not being good, are just too stubborn to admit they were wrong. Can’t speak for others, but yeah I’ll say I was wrong about him. Never too stubborn to...

Re: NED vs ARG
Alan Shearer has been saying the same "lump it up to big lad.." And then we see Wout receive it on the ground, swivel and put it past the keeper. Because Shearer probably thinks what Dyche and the majority of Burnley fans did (he’s 6’6, smack it at him and he’ll do well in the air etc). Clear that’...

That free kick was amazing. It reminded me of Cook to Glen away at Coventry in 2001. Different, but the same amount of sheer cheek.
To do that in the 110th minute of a World Cup quarter final is incredible.

He’s absolutely in awe of him isn’t he. Clear booking for handball earlier, pats him on the back instead. Anyone dares to tackle him, instant free kick and booking.
He’s a fabulous player, doesn’t need this assistance.

Re: Return to action. Can we get better?
I truly think Twine will make such a difference. We win a ton of well placed free kicks and do naff all with them. You look at his goals last season and just think the joy he could have. Really hope the lad is fully fit and gets the chance - the spaces we make suit a player who fancies a long ranger...

It’s all we need in January isn’t it really.
Only other call might be another winger/attacking midfielder on loan should Tella get recalled (though Darko and Twine might fill that gap anyway - think we’d maybe miss Tella’s pace).

Are they really skint? If the new takeover goes through, the owner said there isn’t a need to be a seller in January. He also bid 25m for the stadium and is apparently wiping off the current debt. They’re brassic and he has 18 months left. This is their last opportunity for top dollar. Player will push for it (didn’t rule anything out in that interview). I reckon the only stumbling block for Burnley could be PL competition but I bet he moves this January.

Re: Coventry City
Let this rumble on till February 1st, with them desperate for cash and us able to sign O'Hare and Gyokeres for a combined £15m or so (heavily incentivised on promotion clauses).
Then let them get sorted out to avoid any long-term issues to their club. See, I am harsh, but I am fair.

If we signed Gyokeres you may as well put a C next to our name as it would guarantee we win it. I suppose it’s that thinking that means it’s a no brainer at £15m for Pace. Pathetic lack of ambition from them all tournament. Awful in every game.
Yes, they’re crap (compared to us), but that squad is definitely better than Iran and not far off USA on paper. Majority of its first eleven play in the Premier League or have done. Shocking.

If Foden is ever on the bench again I’ll lose my mind. A joke for him to ever be considered anything but a certain starter. Rashford had a poor first half, but he’s penetrative and definitely adds something to this team. I’d be tempted to keep it as this all over against Senegal.

The Welsh putting every man behind the ball when needing to win (now by four) in what will probably be their last ever World Cup game (no replacements coming through for Bale and Ramsey) is pretty awful from Page. I’m hoping Foden comes on for Mount and changes this game, showing Southgate exactly why it’s insane he doesn’t start every game. I appreciate he’s had a few quiet England games but you have to persevere with him - he’s one of the greatest young attacking midfielders in world football.

Midfield and full backs spending the entire game facing their own goal. Nobody taking it on the turn. Harsh to pick out one player when all are offering little bit Mount is utterly anonymous.
