Mine is the same as Rammyclaret’s 12 Sept 1970
Lost to Arsenal 2-1.
I went a few times that season and we lost every time.
I was considered bad luck and that only changed when we had our promotion season a couple of years later.

As a deterrent I am not too sad at the decision but I do believe in redemption and would have been ok with her returning hopefully wiser for her experiences.

Erm, only Nixon has suggested that from what I’ve seen. This is getting surreal. Good players arriving day after day. One more centre mid is surely the only slot from an optimum squad. How he has sourced a team, mostly made up of players who don't know each other, playing so effectively, so quickly, and evolving at the same pace, is remarkable. I think Sean Dyche started the togetherness. I know most of those players have moved on or are moving shortly but every one of our new signings commented on the great atmosphere and attitude. Time will tell, but I think almost a certain that we won’t even entertain a bid for Gykores whilst he’s valued at them sorts of sums. Perhaps ten million but nothing more I agree with you (for once). Getting relegated was the best thing that has happened. We’ve cleared out a whole raft of players on salaries that have been inflated by our stay in the Prem. Also he looks as one footed as you could ever be. He may be fast but he has less than 30 career goals. 10m Euros is an obscene amount for someone he has yet to do it in a top league.

I’m old enough to have seen the 70s promotion team and in terms of sustained good football I would say this is in some ways the best since then. That's perfectly achievable in my view, probably the 3 hardest on paper we host at TM, in Sheff Utd, Watford and West Brom, and our home form is formidable in this league over a long period. The 2 derbies could be tricky, however we are a completely different animal to the side who drew with Lasher...

I have said this often. Dwight is a poor player. He is one of the main reasons we got relegated. Dyche is seen as a gamble by the majority of clubs, certainly in the Premier League and certainly over the "brand" of football that he offered up.
