Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think the thing that is confusing some of us is that Muric was a real success story last season. He was excellent towards the end of the season. So strange that we’ve been so actively trying to replace him. I feel it must be an off the field issue because on the field he looks like he is a great f...

i hope the deal is already done as i think his value will already go up after we in the u21 final Highly unlikely he will sign before the final as he has other priorities until after the final whistle blows. But I guess you mean the fee agreed with City… but they can always change that until he sig...

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I 100% back what is happening, but lets not beat around the bush here, we'd be laughing ourselves silly if another promoted club spent that amount of money on a keeper with no premier league experience and at that age I seem to remember Middlesbrough fans laughing when we bought Pope. Not sure fans...

Re: Weghorst
I can’t help but feel this could be a humble pie thread for the future. Until VK says he isn’t in our plans he is a Burnley player who is likely to start or be on the bench most matches. What he would be like in VKs system is anyone’s guess and no amount of trotting out goals in Prem stats make any ...

It is a shame WW has been on international duty. I think VK will choose to quickly integrate him or ship him out but right now he hasn’t even trained with the other lads. Still is possibly the ideal candidate for VKs system but mentally I can see that being impossible. If we had never had him in a D...

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Pep is going mad on playing 3-4 Centre Halves just not in a back 3. It gives additional cover at set pieces and steel to the midfield. Maybe Vinny is copying his mentor.

Pure assumption here but if it is true that they are buying him, then I would guess that means we are not really in for Gyokeres as surely he would have been used as a makeweight. One we can probably cross off the striker list. I’m not sure we ever saw him as a realistic target. Not good enough to ...

I would be happy for him but also a bit dissapointed as he is a real talent. He would , under Dyche have been a regular sub for either Tarlks or Ben but I just don't think he is a VK player. Could see Charlie T moving on as well this summer. Agree with both points. So long as we make a profit on Mc...

If you get a loan player like Diallo for example and his performances help keep you in the league then raising value for his parent club is worth it, having clauses like we had for Beyer is the perfect scenario but id imagine if we didn’t have a clause for Beyer he would of been 20mil this summer I...

I’m not really that interested in loans unless we have an option to buy. Feels like we end up raising the value of a player we then can’t afford to buy ( I’m looking at you Ian and Nathan). Better to take a risk on an undervalued player from Europe… also there is no pressure to keep playing them to ...

Burnley are planning to look at Arsenal’s Nigerian midfield starlet Joel Ideho after he was released. Ideho was rated a top prospect but had an injury-hit season and was eventually surprisingly allowed to leave at the end of his contract. The Clarets are keen to have Ideho for their under-21 side a...

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think the money is almost irrelevant. We are playing a game of moneyball. A keeper who is already at the 15m mark and is interesting Utd and Chelsea but wants a year in the Prem to show he is a no 1 is the sort of banker that this approach targets. It is almost certain we can double our money with...

I wish we could just leave him alone until we know what his future is. Too many entrenched positions which might mean VK can’t resurrect his Burnley career even if he wants to.
Ten Haag finds a use for him. So it isn’t inconceivable that VK could want the same.

Confident of top 10 but if I had to pick a particular position I’d go 7th. Having said that we literally could finish anywhere. So many players who did so well last season but completely untested in the Prem League. My optimism is based as much on Kompany and Pace as it is on our players.

I keep saying this… it is salaries not transfer fees that I think are the limiting factor. Buy a you £20m player and you have a £20m asset. You can always sell it if times get hard. As we have proved. You’ve not lost anything. Salaries affect the profits more directly. You can’t get them back.

Muric is excellent. Full stop. Will be sold for twice what Pope was. If you want to play as we do it is more important to be a ball player than an amazing shot stopper. Just rewatch the Coty game to see how it doesn’t work without a sweeper keeper. It is why the likes of Hart and Pope will never be ...
