Re: Fawlty Towers BBC 1 8.30
Cleese cited Milligan as THE comedic influence, so why dont they repeat his "curry and chips " shows. I don't think it would be far from the truth to say 'The Goon Show', of which Milligan was a key component, was the show that spawned the zany type comedy such a the Carry On movies and later, Pyth...

I picked up the complete collection on DVD at a charity shop a couple months back for a paltry $3. I'd forgotten how funny it was, absolutely brilliant stuff.

Well! whether he wins or not he's performed admirably over the 4 days, and he'd still be a guy you'd want in your corner during a Ryder Cup. Absolutely agree with you. I have the utmost respect for Westy, he's been at the top, the very bottom, back to the top and everywhere in between. I doubt ther...

Re: Golf tonight
This is where his experience should count in his favour, he's used to seeing tournaments out on the back 9, so this shouldn't phase him at all. A birdie or two wouldn't go amiss for him right now though, it's getting tight up there. Sure, he's well experienced at closing, however he's playing with ...

I'm glued to the telly watching The Players Championship rooting for Westy to keep things together. Despite a few loose shots, his putting is saving him......so far. DeShambles seems to be confused as to what's gong on with his swing. For those chasing, pars could be very important today. Canadian C...

Lovely early spring day here in SW Ontario, +6 degrees, not a cloud in the sky :D We had a 30 minute heavy rainstorm Thursday, which got rid of most of the snow. With a bit of luck, local golf courses will be opening up in 2-3 weeks  I'm thinking we can get a positive result today, come on you ...

Being a golfer myself, albeit a poor golfer, I had great interest in today's tournament at 'Arnies Place'. I was stuck between whom I wanted to win. Corey Connors was in the final group, he's born and bred about 30 km north of where I live and learned his trade at a course I play often. In my 'heart...

Good movie, thanks for posting. I didn't realise Elder was only 26 when he was shipped off to Stoke, must have still had a lot of his top level career ahead of him. He used to live up top of Brownside if memory serves.

Alexander Golovin, the Russian CM at Monaco, gave a few interesting snippets on life under Henry. In training, Henry would fly into a rage if his players couldn’t do the things that he could do as a player. It would often end up with Henry joining the sessions and almost embarrassing the players, c...

I was on the game, being ten years old at the time. Talking about throw-ins. It seems that only the Right Back or Left Back are allowed to take them even if there's a quick one as a choice. Quite often the other side have time to get into defensive shape whilst we wait for the correct thrower to arrive. Anyone else notice that? I've often wondered a...

Might be a good time to ‘freshen’ things up on the training field? Lowton to practice as right half back. Taylor to practice as left...
