Fofana & Foster - deadly duo?
Could these two work together up top? Strike partnerships are a little bit of a thing of the past but as always football comes full circle and they're starting to become a thing again - it's definitely something that centre halves/defenses aren't used to in the top leagues as they've largely been pl...

Re: Controversial comment
It's the fact that some of our biggest signings that were given ample time to show their worth really haven't proven to be better than what we had (and in some instances notably worse), yet VK stuck and doubled down each week. There's time for some of them to still deliver for the Clarets but on the...

Re: Burnley vs Brentford - MATCH THREAD
Today is exactly how I expected our games in the PL to go with our style of play from last season - a bit turbulent, rode our 'luck' at times but kept going and kept fighting. Very pleased to see that we're still that side.

Re: Arijanet Muric
The evidence suggests it was anything but a safe angle, he's way out of his goals. Dara made a hash of it by getting the ball stuck under his feet no doubt, but the fact he's played a straight pass which nearly ends up in a goal shows the angle made was far from.safe. Anyway, overall he played well...

Re: Arijanet Muric
I don't think many schoolboys would have been in the bizarre position Muric was, it was a poor backpack from.O'Shea but no way should it have nearly resulted in a goal. Well actually schoolboys might but pro goalies? Correct position - he was making an angle for a safe backpass and to get an angle ...

Re: Arijanet Muric
It's the confidence he has when he is passing out the ball. I've yet to see him panic when he does have the ball. Almost gave me a heart attack last season a few times but he didn't bat an eyelid. He's genuinely world class at it. I think he's absolutely mustard and why I've been so disappointed to...

Re: Arijanet Muric
Great result. As for Muric, a couple of good saves, a couple of positive actions to deal with corners, and much quicker distribution. All in all a good performance. Negatives, Not sure why he went AWOL for the first half back pass which almost cost us our lead, and several glimpses of last seasons ...

Re: Arijanet Muric
He played well but it's one game and we were playing against 10 men for the most of it. There were also two fouls given to him in similar situations to the Luton goal, where he perhaps should have been stronger. And of course they could have had a penalty had they not scored the goal as he had comm...

He senses space really, really well - a trait that is shared amongst the top players.
If he just adds to his end product he will literally be the buy of the century. I really like him and he wears his heart on his sleeve every match.

Genuinely had it all to do - massive saves in key moments, brilliant distribution and even went to war at the end there receiving a few clatterings. It's insane that it's taken this long for Muric to get a game in the PL but the difference in distribution really is night and day.
Can't believe there were some on here trying to equate it.

I’m sure that Muric got loads of stick for been indecisive on crosses into the box last season. I suppose the longer one is out of the team they tend to improve on here. We will see, 3 pts today, I can feel it. He did then really improved. Still inexperienced himself - I think Traff has now played ...

That is business though. The PL has a product that people want to buy and are prepared to spend £Billions every year to get access to. Part of the desire to access the product is the fact that many of the best players and managers in the world are on view, thus the huge transfer fees and 'big name'...

Meant to add (cannot edit) -
A single PL player transfer could quite literally fund a lower league club for years upon years, it's wrong to witness a 153-year-old club crumble because of a questionable owner. It just doesn't sit right with me - surely changes are needed?

Reading FC x Wycombe Vultures debacle...
I've mentioned this previously, but modern football increasingly embodies the opposite of what sports were originally intended to represent and is imo, rotten. This was clearly illustrated today with Wycombe's predatory move to acquire Reading FC's training facilities - a club that is visibly fallin...

Those clubs couldn't give a toss because there's always loads of far more well heeled "fans" ...

No he definitely didn’t as he was still running back from the half way line after missing a header he was never going to win What you/we/I have to remember is that defending in this system will look very different than what we were accustomed to under SD. Surprised Luton have gotten as far as they have in all honesty -
That's the sort of result that can totally deflate and take the wind out of a team in Luton's position.
It's still impressive that they've been able to get results with their squad that (Barkley aside) is absolute Championship fodder.
