May as well give this one a push as I know it's not everyone cup of tea . Could be at least 3 Clarets play in Dublin as I think Brady and Long will start for Ireland , I would say Wood will start for New Zealand . Would Pope get a start in either of the England games ? I reckon it'll be mostly rese...

I was in town this morning when the two minute silence was held. I was absolutely astonished that it was virtually ignored. One of the main reasons for their success and effectiveness this season thus far has been the excellence of Dwight McNeil who has looked a constant threat and has provided numerous assists. How effective and potent they will be without him remains to be seen. Guardian agrees with this: "Dwight McNe...

When did the tradition of holding a minutes silence at the game before Remembrance Day (often with soldiers present on the field) begin? Is it a relatively new phenomenon? Pretty sure we had poppies on shirts back in 2009, so at least a decade. Hartlepool had a special kit designed this year - kind...

I don't understand why people want others to hear what they are listening to. I often also think that those who play music through speakers are trying to create conflict - much like adults cycling on footpaths - they want someone to say something so they can be `offended' and start.

I'd strongly recommend The US Office (available on Prime). It's a different kind of show to the UK one, and the first series is a little weak, but once it finds it's feet it's excellent. It was developed by Greg Daniels, who was a writer on The Simpsons when it was at it's peak. Hit its stride seas...

I often, upon hearing an awful song on the radio, will remark "someone, somewhere, right now, will be loving this as it'll be their favourite song of all time". Football will never truly take off in the States because they haven’t got the mentality for it. Smaller population to pick from. Small populations, but both Ireland and NI have plenty of non-Irish-born players. BPF, Saville and Flanagan, all English, played last night. NI happy to welcome English players into their squad but cry "not fair" when players born in NI opt to play for the Republic.
