I seem to recall going to a friendly preseason game in the early 1970s at Lincoln and there was a lot of agro. Upstarts.

Re: Well done the board

Very, very happy. I have got a father and son in my house at the moment doing some carpentry work and although I live in Hampshire they are both Rovers fans. Who would have thunk it. I'm walking around the house with my claret and blue bobble hat on singing to them. They are now well aware that we a...

Balance is so important. I became aware of this some years ago after I had the joint in my left foot big toe immobilised. Pain free but I do wobble about a bit.

I'm sure it will be a busy day but will it be a productive one or will we be left frustrated. Still you can always sing to Mr Garlick as the match progresses tonight something like Garlick, Garlick wheres's the bread.

Re: Glad I'm not from Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Iran, Yemen, or Libya

This thread reminds me of a song by Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson on their Winter In America LP. The track was H20Gate Blues which was a skit on Nixon and his administration after the Watergate scandal and one of the lines in the song went something like - his ignorance is surpassed only by the ...

I was amusing myself given what I perceived to be you being a little thin skinned with regard to the Kate Adie comment. That's the problem with working two dimensionally.

Re: Excellent Article on Begging

Shouldn't lose sight of the fact that some people can find beggars intimidating. I had to step in on one occasion and help a young woman who was being harassed by a beggar. I could see she was getting a bit upset by his persistent requests for money so I asked him politely to stop and was sadly met ...

Re: "Burnley Fans are Racist" - The New Statesman

Clearly it is exercising a lot of minds on this board. It all depends on how serious the perceived insult is taken by fans of the club and indeed the club itself. I appreciate there is a temptation to ignore it (I probably would have) but others demonstrably have not. I would hope that no-one is lyi...

Re: "Burnley Fans are Racist" - The New Statesman

Do we have a Press/Media Department at Burnley. Would, could, should (!) they take this up with the New Statesman to clarify what they meant. I understand that Rowls had tried without success. In terms of simple grammatical English "fans of Burnley" suggests ALL fans. He could have been more reasona...

For me we should now, at least, be looking at the options available to us as a club should be stay up. And I would hope that the Chairman and his board have some plans in place should we do so. Whilst this doesn't have any impact on me whatsoever I would have thought that, if the team stay up, then the Club could freeze the prices for existing ST Holders at least. After all it has been mentioned on this site before that given the money from Sky we could run with an empty stadium. Something...
