Re: Fulham game off
That's why he's on the prick list, I'm sure he believes he's funny. Quite sad really. Lineker may be on your pr1ck list but he is not on THE pr1ck list. That is reserved for people who are unanimously voted on by all sane people and currently, to my knowledge, includes Tim Sherwood and Robert Jones.

Seems this is one of the new markets they wanted to enter and they needed a club to use that proves the model works. Yeah, I can see we would be a useful guinea pig in this area. Thing is, would other clubs want to join the platform knowing we were the primary "connected" customer? I appreciate the...

I’m not claiming that the directors haven’t financially benefitted from the success of the club. Clearly they have. But they’ve benefited at the expense of ALK Capital, not BFC. The sell-on value of the club was never guaranteed to be higher than the purchase price, so I can’t see how anybody can b...

The thing I find most troubling is not whether or not the owners are local, but the fact that Burnley FC is being transformed to a significant degree from being a football club to being a business venture for people who want to make money fr...

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
I don't dislike MG and I have repeatedly recognised his part in our rise. I wrote this back in Sep and nothing has changed in my mind, except it now looks almost certain he will walk with £100m: How does Garlick "get out", assuming he wants to? What is a fair price? How much has he invested? I doubt...

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover
This obsession that some fans have about Garlick making a return on his investment is weird. He invested in the club, hasn’t taken a penny in return and is now selling up. What exactly is wrong with that? Not taken a penny in return? Does the £100m capital gain not count as a return on his investme...

The guy has taken us to the PL from the Championship - not taken a wage for most of it... He is about to be "rewarded" with approx £100m for his 14 year directorship. Would you feel differently about him if he had taken £7m per year in remuneration? Or, £14m in each of the seasons we have been in t...

All things being equal I don't see what "ceteris paribus" adds to that statement. Any road up, it's not true. Obviously ALK are expecting something quid pro quo. We don't have to generate 200m, grosso modo we need to generate an acceptable return on 200m that's all. Other than that it's solito nego...

But they are buying a business that is worth £200m. So after 12 months, all being equal they could recoup their £200m by selling the club on. On this basis ALK don’t need to generate £200m of profit to see a return on their investment. As to your question, we have seen what happens with our current...

Of course it’s not a gift. ALK are paying a reported £200m and in return they will acquire a profitable business with high-value assets. We don’t know how ALK are funding the purchase and whether this will create a debt. And any talk of their strategy in running the club is pure guesswork. Not sure...

The investment is not a gift so it requires repayment before the investors can secure a return on that investment. Whether it is push down debt on acquisition on the Balance Sheet or not is irrelevant to that point.
