Re: Marney injury
Not sure anyone has said we're carrying him nor that it's time to get rid. Have you watched us in the last month or so? He's been poor and keeps coming off injured. Dyche keeps telling us he's got an ongoing nerve damage problem. That's because no one did say that. Fact remains it's not 2013 anymor...

Re: Marney injury
Why do we continue to play him every week if he's carrying an injury ? Need to drag ourselves away from the 13-14 axis, these players won't be around forever - youth required.

Villa for 30k pw, or thereabouts allegedly. Cairney might be an option and a longer term one at that. (Yes, fully aware who he used to play for).kaptin1 wrote:Conor Hourihane looks a decent player

Plenty on here writing off such as Swansea and Hull and thinking it's going to be a canter. Nah, not having it - and we've got to go to both. Still think it's 3 from 5 and, yes, we are one of the five.

Re: George Boyds contract
I expect he will be offered a contract and will start in the team whatever division we are in. However, yes, I would sincerely hope we are considering scouting a younger replacement(s), really need to add some youth to the squad this summer - it's the next step.

Re: Squad age
Whilst I can see the rationale re short term thinking in bringing in the experienced likes of Barton, as it is all about PL survival this season, I would hope that in the summer we would (successfully) target some younger players for the first team. We do need to find the next Ings, Tripper, Keane e...

Re: ARTICLE: Bamford departure frees up loan slot
I don't know how anyone can really comment on Bamford when, for ever reason, he wasn't given a chance and no one on here could possibly know why. I never thought he was a Dyche "type" to be honest, it alway appeared a pretty pointless signing. I personally don't feel that Ashley Barnes is a Premier ...

Good move for him, Wilder is a decent manager. You'd think there might be one or two more hanging around at Burnley that might want to get out permanently and actually play some football.

Some people on here getting very carried away with that win over Sunderland win at Christmas. Still have us for relegation if we can't improve our shocking away record.
Point v Southampton would be decent enough.

Don't watch ROI games (or Norwich), is Brady going to add any pace to the side ? Or is he another grafter / runner ?
Appears highly rated by many on here so just wondering what he would potentially bring to the party.

Re: Arfield and Gudmundsson both doubtful
I do understand your use of `inexplicable` regards Kightly and the Premier League - not saying he is of that standard at all but neither is Arfield. I, like a few others, like him (Kightly) as he at least runs at defenders and can stretch the opposition. In the game at St. Mary`s especially, Southa...

Can't get excited about this one. Don't see him as the pacey creative type of player we need. In fact I'm still waiting for a decent rumour to start, the likes of Gradel, Cleverly etc. aren't cutting it. Maybe I'm just expecting too much. You're expecting too much if our idea of living dangerously ...

1. Yes
2. Always assumed it would be the last two three days of the month.
3. Not sure we will be affecting the group too much in the current market, in which we are not leaders.

There's been a couple of exceptions (in terms of younger players that SD has faith in) but, generally, ablueclaret has it right - SD will always favour the seasoned pro over younger players, it's part of his pragmatic, rather conservative approach. It's been successful so hey ho. However to say the ...

What we've learnt is that we appear to have learnt very little from last time in the Premier League. Only one inevitable conclusion, unfortunately.

We have a super set of players who give everything and a manager and staff to match. if, by some fluke, we don't make it, I would not have any qualms about cheering them all to the rafters. This is the best squad for years. Really ? Certainly not played the best football, it's been fairly dire for ...
