I can agree with the decision not to flag when it’s close and unsure, but when it’s blatantly obvious and they let play continue is where the issues are.

There are probably guidelines that prevent it, but surely the VAR officials saw the " free kick that wasn't " last night ! If VAR was brought in to prevent injustices and " clear and obvious errors ", then why couldn't it have been used last night ? From the Premier League website What incidents do...

Is it not the case that once the ref blew for the free kick that is it? You can not use VAR because VAR is only used for penalties, offsides leading to a goal red cards, and fouls taking place in the active lead up to a goal. Once the ref incorrectly blows for the foul that is the end of that phase...

We usually have a slow trip up Belvedere Rd and Eastern Avenue heading away from the Tennis Club Car Park but last night was smooth and very quick, as we were back in LP at 10.30 ... We couldn't believe how quick we got away last night (and yes we did stay untill the final whistle :-) ...) You must...

If an attacker fouls a defender in the build up to a goal they can go back and sort that out retrospectively. So VAR can change a decision (or lack thereof) if the roles are reversed. Make it make sense. Once the onfield ref has given the foul out of the area there is nothing the VAR can about it. ...

Stupid question, but does this figure include away fans and hospitality?
Looking at the attendances for last season, I’m assuming it’s from the totals that were announced, so would include away fans.
Not sure if all the hospitality sales are include in it or not

Average Home league gate:
2022/23 - 19,953
2021/22 - 19,317
surprised at this!
Surprised in what way?
seems about right to me
More games
More local games
We’d have been a “new ground” for some teams
But on the flip side, more midweek games would see lower attendance

I would assume this Friday, I don't think any fixture changes barring the final day are done with less that four weeks. The last game of the season is the only game where fans can plan ahead and guarantee nothing will change All the games have to kick off at the same time so will stay as Sunday 4pm

Do we think its actually sold out or the system needs restocking? Amazing what a couple of decent results can do! There were around 150 left when I checked on Friday evening Now wish I’d took the chance and got them yesterday before my group confirmed https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewt...

As much as I disagree with Assignons two yellows and the penalty I do think it's to be expected in this league. He's just too naive. You just can't put give your opponent any reason to buy a foul and you certainly can't barge into someone that way the box because you know they'll make the most of i...

It's like something has gone awry on friends and family. My missus has been elevated to 65+, she's not at all happy.
Her ticket will be cheaper though

You literally broke down the figures to try to demonstrate it was a minimal increase in terms of price per game. Totally ignoring the fact that some people will have to find an extra 100 pounds plus across the year to pay for it. For some that is significant- it's tone deaf to think otherwise. The ...

It makes me sad that you and NewClaret can't read a room. Some people are fortunate enough that an increase won't affect them. Unfortunately the reality is that some people will be affected by a rise that (in some cases), is significant- see the extra percentage increases. You can break it down eve...

Really useful post. I don’t like rises of any nature but that does put in to perspective that £3, £5.43 and £13.66 for U12’s to O65’s still represents outstanding value for money in my view.
Even if we stay up and over 19 games there isn’t much more difference at £3.63 £6.58 £16.53

Just done some quick calcs on last year and this year prices for our group in the JMU Adult 5% increase O65, u12 & u18 25% increase On the assumption we are down and have 23 games next season, there isn’t much change in cost per game Adult £19.87 to £22.89 O65 £13.16 to £13.66 U12 £2.89 to £3.00 U18...

Genuinely interested. What's the issue with Vine? I don't know much about him, but on the occasions that I listen to his radio programme I don't find him to be particularly offensive or controversial. He always comes across to me as a well-spoken, fairly bland, non-controversial sort of guy. Am I m...

That’s very very true . Many sports like athletics , tennis , swimming , cycling ,the disadvantage is simply muscle mass /power ratio etc . But with football there’s a plethora of balance / strength disadvantages for the women . The issue being , that instead of accepting and owning it, the media e...

No one can argue with JB that women’s football is very poor compared to the men’s game and especially the keepers . Though I think he’s flogging it a bit now and it’s become a grift . It’s a shame, he could have been a good manager or at least a mildly controversial successful pundit in the game Bu...
