Barnes reminds me of the centre forward Serginho in the Brazil World Cup team of 1982. He looks so out of place
I think you're being generous.
He reminds me more of a Carl Leaburn or Robert Rosario, given his scoring record!

Which chances created tonight would Austin or Gray have put away?
We'll never know, but they were far more likely to get into the right areas and stay on their feet than Barnes!

Oh for a Charlie Austin or Andre Gray in their prime at this level right now!
Barnes and Rodriguez are not going to get 20 a season between them... Never mind each!

Oh, and I'm not saying bring masks back, but to state, that they don't have an impact is just silly and doesn't stack up with the mountains of evidence. Oh, and don't bother quoting because I won't respond. It's not going to change anyone's mind if they are against mask evidence. Are these the mask...

I flew into the Balearic Islands a couple of days ago. On arrival, there were spot checks to see covid passports and some passengers asked to take covid tests. First time I've seen this at an airport.
Yes. God forbid someone should get a case of the sniffles.

If they bring masks back l will refuse to wear one.

Given his height advantage, he was the worst header of a ball I've ever seen from a Burnley striker...with the possible exception of David Jones (the one from the eighties).

Presumably to fit in the reports from the afternoon's games. I guess there's more people interested in the Chelsea match than how Brechin v Airdrie finished.
I don't see why they can't do that at half-time in the 5.30 game.

Blind faith is all well and good Ian, but nothing in the last 2 or 3 years suggests he's good enough to fit into a team that wants to play football.
He'll get 20 goals though!

Can't knock him for his effort and work for the team, but he shouldn't be starting games for us now, decent bench option absolutely, and he's been badly needed in these first couple of games, due to being only fir senior striker, but if anyone thinks he's going to fire us to promotion they're dream...

Strongly disagree - in the brief moments he was given to shine, he scored goals. If he'd played the same minutes Wood did, I'd bet my house Vydra would score (and definitely assist + create) more.
He really wouldn't.

The Belgian journo who’s been up to speed on the reporting of this deal throughout said €2.5m upfront and €1m in bonus.
Antwerp were in a position where they needed to sell a few due to league regulations.
I'll just need to do the exchange rate now!

Extremely sad to see Dwight leave. There are some players that come and go , there are some players where it just doesn't work out. Dwight could have become a Burnley legend. Deep down you know they got very lucky and, by all rights, should have gone down last season. Only their massive over spending kept them up by the skin of their teeth. If you can't see that then, perhaps, football isn't your game. No, they stayed up because they won when they needed to and got more...

Wrong again. I think VK is being honorable by letting anyone with Prem aspirations to go and pursue them. IMO, Dwight has chosen a sinking ship to jump onto because Lampard is a sh!te manager. Irrelevant. His market value will have decreased significantly over the past couple of seasons. He's been the most frustrating player to watch during that period.

Why should there be? A very short career (10 years max, maybe a few more if you're lucky) so they have every right to maximise their earnings and play at the highest level they can. Good question. I think in some ways yes as there’s more ‘emotion’ involved in football clubs than moving from Tesco to M&S. But I also take your point - hence why I asked the question. Just saw it and thought errrr.
