Re: We need to talk about Foster
He was poor last season, then he started this season looking like a completely different player and I was hopeful we had a gem on our hands. He’s then put in another run of very substandard performances which leaves me wondering whether the 7-8 good performances early in the season were the anomaly.

Interesting the ref didn’t give Munich a penalty at the other end as he described it as a “kids mistake” apparently. I've always thought that a player should have to place the ball down with their hand before taking a free kick to remove any ambiguity of when it's been taken. There's more reason to...

That’s the kind of decision I would expect a PL ref to give and be backed up by VAR. The officiating, on the whole, is much better in the CL.

Just had a look at those minutes conceded. We are not outliers from minutes 30-45. We have 8 scored and 12 conceded. Similar to several. Don’t know about just the last few minutes of the half. However where we ARE outliers (with Sheffield) is minutes 76-90. We have 6 scored and 18 conceded. But our...

People quickly forget how poor the standard is in the Championship. Half the teams there basically roll over for any half decent side. The standard isn't great, that's for sure. Is it a guessing game? Not saying it's a direct comparison. Just that it wouldn't be totally surprising if it's true. Players and agents plan and track out their careers. In my opinion the error is just a factor in losing the game and the decision making to try the pass to start with is terrible, abit like when Trafford plays the ball to brownhill at palace when he had a simple pass to Taylor wide or when O’Shea played a criminal pass into Berge at wolves away. Agreed, it was because a professional footballer couldn't control an easy pass along the ground. Yes, but mistakes happen. The problem is we are set up in such an over-exposed way that these mistakes are inevitably punished. In terms of standards, I’ve observed a real lack of work rate from a numbe...

Yeah Vinny is sloppy and has sloppy standards which is why he is at Gawthorpe 12-14 hours a day. It’s possible to work long hours and still fail to instil the correct discipline and standards in your team. We also play better when we go down to 10 men. That's why we have the most red cards in the PL as we need to go up and gear and catch the opposition by suprise. Good tactic. I sometimes wonder whether our players know how to interpret the digital match clock on the big screen. There’s a real lack of ability to adapt their game to the situation. See also the complete lack of urgency when trailing a game with a few minutes to go.
