But here's the thing.....no matter what the record books might tell you....26th Jan.'63 is probably the the only time an attendance in excess of 56,000 has ever been seen on Turf Moor......in fact it was considerably more....as anyone on the CF end stand that day will attest to.

Like I said, officially maybe.....but the reality was very different.......Never, ever, known anything like it in the CF end....I'm stood next to Liverpool fans and seriously fighting for breath. The downside is, I'm bragging to the Liverpool guy next to me, we'll see of you off at Anfield..... ......

The day I played against Clitheroe Grammar I am sure a future Burnley player was in their team but can’t remember who.It would have been probably 66/67.Any clues who might also have gone to Clitheroe Grammar.
