Always found Milan a bit 'cold' to be honest, people a bit up themselves, not typically Italian.
Go to Rome.

Or as CT says, Verona is arguably the best looking Italian city (yes, I've been to Florence).

Been to Rome many times, my favourite restaurant is Pomodoro Rosso - up near the Embassies & Harry's Bar.
Top notch food, cheap as you want, which is a surprise considering.

Edit - just checked, it's actually Il Pomodorino. Piazza Barberini, top of Via Veneto & turn right.

Problem is, it's away ends that cause my problems, and they'll be the last to alter.

Can't do with standing in a normal seated area, completely fvcks up my sciatica. Something to do with the angle of the chair backs causing me to stand unnaturally.
