Re: Football Focus - Beyer
That’s another option if we were to go three at the back, not the biggest fan of that system but we definitely have ready made RCB/LCB in Beyer and Chaz I don't think it even needs that personally. Keep the 442, but with Vitinho deployed to press high and wide on the right. When he played there las...

Agreed Spice. The only thing for me is that Vitinho has been playing well and rn we have our right back overlapping and staying high and wide - if we are to invert the fullback into midfield Beyer could be the man for it. It's a role I think he's played quite a bit before. That is a fair point abou...

Re: Football Focus - Beyer
I think Beyer at this stage would be best deployed at right back. It requires a little less physicality and is a bit more forgiving defensively and would give him a platform for those marauding runs of his. I don't think he's done especially well at centre back although I absolutely think he's got p...

Of course Foster would be a better focal point if fully firing than Jay. That might help Amdouni. But this argument Amdouni is being let down by Jay's lack of movement doesn't hold water. The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Trafford- 6 - unfairly maligned by others. If we are thinking of single examples then how about when Trafford played a direct ball over the top against Sheffield United which Amdouni latched onto, brought down exquisitely and created a chance for Jay. Doesn’t seem to go with the ‘waited for the game to come to him’ thing. Jay is doing an ok...

You’ve admitted to not watching the game yesterday. I was at the Amex. Amdouni was man of the match against Sheffield and extremely effective first half yesterday. Can’t agree he’s not providing a link option at all. Its massive in the sense that the next two games are chances for points before a couple of games that look tough on paper, and when you have 8 points from 16 games you are running very short of chances to resurrect the season.

If Obafemi wasn't on the bench then fair enough. But certainly Redmond (plenty of evidence of him running behind from his Southampton days), and then also Zaroury who has a fizz to his movement that is lacking in Amdouni in particular.

I think our biggest single problem is that we have far too many players who want the ball into feet, and are used to playing in leagues where they can do that without needing to be constantly on the move. His long passing today was excellent and he also delivered a couple of good crosses. His shorter passing at times was a bit untidy - one into touch and 2 or 3 that were intercepted when moving it out to the full back - not a pass you can afford to get wrong at this level.

One gave Vitinho 6 apart from that all 7s and 8s.
