I just feel mightily sorry for him. Set up to fail by Dyche by playing him in a two with the hapless Westwood when it was obvious that Leeds would run all over us.
Tried his best of course, which is more than I can say for some of his mates, but never stood a chance today.

Re: Tactics / strategy
Disagree with both. Dyche signed them both knowing his favoured formation being 4.4.2. Stephens injury may impact this, but Cornet has been our bright spark in the number 10 role and offers far more than anyone else in that position. Fair enough. Cornet has looked his best in the number 10 role but...

Re: Tactics / strategy
I'll have a stab an answering the questions... 1.) Because Stephens probably can't do much in a 442, especially against a side as energetic dynamic as Leeds. Brining on Stephens would probably have required a formation change and we know that is just not possible. 2.) Cornet probably isn't a number ...

Does anyone know if Tony Loughlan's departure has had a significant impact on us, or is it that him going has coincided with this wretched run of performances and results? Re: The Minimum requirement ……
Just watched Dyche's interview on the BBC.
He's talking about Leeds running with purpose and giving it all they've got. Working hard for each other.
So now even Dyche himself acknowledges that our opposition want it more than we do.

Re: ‘We didn’t play with the edge it takes’
You only have to look at Norwich to see it rarely works by trying to play a better brand of football with limited players though. I'm not saying we can't play defensive and direct football. I am saying that to do that, this 442 setup with the players we have is making us so unbelievably bad with th...

Re: ‘We didn’t play with the edge it takes’
Ultimately though, it was always about stick or twist. Stay up with rigid football for six seasons, or drop down like many others have done after a season or two. I don't accept that our football has to be as bad as this to give us any hope of staying up. Anyone else would see playing such terrible...

Re: ‘We didn’t play with the edge it takes’
I agree. It’s like watching table football when someone just spins and bashes it about, only in real life football. It's beyond terrible. Our players play in zones and are left to navigate their zone completely on their own without any help from their mates, even when it's obvious we're being press...

Somebody has clearly scribbled out that mantra on the walls of Gawthorpe.
The way I've seen our players lazily walk back after giving the ball away in the last couple of matches has confirmed to me that effort isn't a big deal anymore.

I doubt he can play in a midfield two anymore. He did it very successfully alongside Kayal at Brighton in the Championship for a couple of years, but when they came up Hughton always played in three in midfield with Gross in place of a forward. As I've said further up though, I'd play him at Leeds a...

Wayne Rooney would not come to Burnley in the Championship. No way would we be in a position to match the salary he picks up at Derby, or get anywhere close to it after relegation.

I really don't mind the Championship. Sure it gets quite tedious if you're hanging around in mid-table with nothing to play for from February, but plenty of fairly local away games and not having to be subjected to "Pep" and his ilk more than make up for that. So it looks like this is goodbye Papabe...
