He is a fantastic left back in my opinion but he isn't the type of LB that VK wants from what I can see.

People were saying the same about an 9/10, then Amdouni came out of nowhere, we ain’t go into this season without a specialist left back. The days of a Hendrick playing right wing as cover are gone .Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2023 12:28 pmCan’t start wondering where the LB links are. Plus other CM links.

For the way we play I think Maatsen is perfect for us. Under Kompany his defensive game will only get better. I’d like to see him back, but id prefer a permanent to a loan however either would be nice.
I still think we will see you surprise signing before we are finished .

Some deals just take a lot longer due to clubs not allowing them to leave until they have finalised their squads , and players looking to impress , which they have every right to( Maatsen). Also worth noting that if these final deals are indeed “big money” moves for Burnley then you can understand w...

Very happy I’ve been able to grab two. I’m on an as and when basis due to work and not wanting to go without my boy, we thought we’d struggle this season but to get on the second game is great. ( never thought I’d have to say this)

With Foster and Koleosho out wide it gave us pace to close down faster . I think perhaps Foster was utilised there to try and limit Walkers pace as well. Fosters work rate and press was good tonight, he won the ball back on a few occasions and I was impressed with him. Amdouni, I must say again look...

I know redmond played from the left today but I see him doing the JBG role from last season once fully fit. A lot of rotation as well. Wingers are notoriously hot and cold , the really consistent ones are way out of our reach.

Brownhill cannot play the role asked of him today. Cullen is a massive player for us and some more quality in the centre is required .
Some good bits today mainly from Amdouni but wouldn’t read too much in to todays game.

Suggestions that we are still contemplating signing THB permanently and that City would demand a £35m buy back clause.
Makes you wonder how we would fit all these players in the squad.
Especially now we’ve been linked with a right back as well in Boey.
Could well be a few outgoings.

McNally to either Coventry or Ipswich, by the looks of it. Hope we get a decent free for him if true. I wonder if we’ve got one under wraps for the midfield role we need a little like we did with Amdouni, it’s been very quiet on that front .
