In my 1970 Tiger Book of Soccer Stars there's a pic of the team with the heading "Turfites" "Clarets" was never really a nickname. We used to sing "come on you clarets" and other songs with the word claret in them but that was just because of the colour of the shirts in the same way that Manu fans ...

Nothing I’d heard but it was very quick. Both looked decent in the u23s last season but interestingly we’ve released one right back (Senior) and let two more go out on loan (Cooney & Cropper). CT, you seem to be getting this a bit wrong, i said another L2 loan would be aiming low., not you. And i'm not suggesting otherwise. I get where both you & Tony are on this one, L2 is ok for a 1st loan but we need to be a bit more ambitious for our young players sometimes, for both their & the foot...

Weren't we previously linked with Bogle from Derby? Sky sports reporting Sheff Utd have had a £15m bid accepted for him and another lad called Lowe. Would suggest we either weren't interested or aren't in the market for a RB this summer. Saw Lowe 3 times on TV last season & he looked decent, though...
