That’s the kind of decision I would expect a PL ref to give and be backed up by VAR. The officiating, on the whole, is much better in the CL.

I sometimes wonder whether our players know how to interpret the digital match clock on the big screen. There’s a real lack of ability to adapt their game to the situation. See also the complete lack of urgency when trailing a game with a few minutes to go.

Should this have been a red card? I haven’t read the match thread so not sure if discussed there. But on the feed I watched it seemed like the ball was comfortably going to reach Muric before McNeil had a chance to get to it. I could be completely wrong given I only saw it from a limited angle.
