Spurs 4-4 in 1960-61 season after being 0-4 down and after we went 4-4 Connelly hit the post!!!! Spurs pitch like a muddy, clogging field, rained nearly all the time. Getting home by train a nightmare, held up for hours because of floods/landslides onto the track. Got home after 19 hours!! Worth it...

That article brings back so many memories............wondering if I should protest, like many thousands did, and boycott Turf Moor.........I found out I just couldn't do it, the pull of watching the Clarets from the Longside was just too great.

St Johns ambulance staff sat around the edge of the pitch, with their stretchers nearby, ready for giving first aid. If their help was needed in the crowd, people around the incident would wave hankies above their heads to alert them and it worked. I was one of those St John Ambulance people ..... ...

Having watched Dobson for many seasons playing in heavy football boots with a heavy ball on heavy pitches, watching the skill, stamina and class, on boggy pitches, ice and snow, he played, as he was, the most expensive, and best player in his era.

Lived in Burnley Lane and we shopped at local butchers on Queen Victoria Road. Remember no one in Burnley Lane would ever shop at Bob Lords, especially after he sold Jimmy Mac.
