Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION

Unfortunately, the chances of us signing an established, proven goalscorer at this level are slim and none and slim's out of town!.. Whatever striker we decide to buy, it's going to be a gamble with a large element of risk. It's a good job we already have one who has just signed a new contract then.

Nobody knows what the exact fee was, but it's been widely reported as £10-12m, now there might be add-on's as well to bump it up.
Nobody knows but it's been reported? It must not be undisclosed then.

No way should any deal be done for 40/50% sell on fees. If a selling club wants to do this then they should loan out with no more than modest loan fees. Look what happened with Tarks 27% (as reported) sell on fee to Brentford. Burnley was always better off keeping him until he ran his contract down...

I think the sentence is a little ambiguous. I think it’s more a case of we are resigned to losing Pope so the best case scenari for us is as much ‘up front’ as possible. Also the term ‘up front’ in transfer terms often means without the add ins as opposed to it meaning getting the bulk of the cash ...

The worrying thing about Ben abandoning ship, the guy who would literally put his head on the ground to block a shot, is that it shows we can expect no loyalty from any others - Cornet, Collins, McNeil, Taylor could all be engineering moves for all we know. What we need is a good persuasive manager...

Strange, you're usually all for quoting stats when it's to criticise Burnley players and now they're "selective".
