The point is to allow international teams to play friendlies which I'm sure are valuable in the build up to a major international tournament.

so a guy can be back peddling, inadvertently knock into someone inside the box and a penalty be awarded and no red is given but outside the box it's a red card - that's the issue I have, it's ridiculous. The pass back was with the knee/thigh so not an offence. It was quite brave though as VAR wouldn’t have been able to intervene and I don’t think I would have trusted the on-field refs to call it correctly.
