Still in a relegation battle in my eyes especially given our away form. Hopefully we'll start to address that on Saturday

There's an urgent need to get in another centre midfielder now given the likelihood of a significant ban for Barton.

Touche, although to nitpick a little I'd say he was improving the squad's depth rather than adding something we don't already have. As solid as he looked last night, I reckon his main role for the rest of the season is going to be as it was against Southampton where he comes on late in the game as ...

Away at Blackpool in the 90's. A Blackpool fan was getting interviewed for some BBC documentary in front of the Burnley fans and made the mistake of goading us. Naturally the Burnley fans responded in kind and the chap ended up getting arrested. Still one of the funniest things I've seen at a footba...

Re: Sunderland FA Cup: sub 10k?
So why can't the turnstile operators have a pile of tickets, sell them, scan them and hand them over? I assume it's because they don't think the turnstile operators are capable of handling cash (or don't trust them). Jim Thompson would not be impressed at the state of the turnstiles if that is the ...

Best atmosphere at an away game I can remember 7000 behind the goal in what is the best stand you can have. Terracing underneath the seats made sure all the noise carried and we had a further 1000 in the home stand. 24 years ago today, madness. I'd agree with that. I also remember there being huge ...
