Re: Bournemouth/Defoe
As long as the owner doesn't pop off, they don't get relegated and Defoe doesn't get injured early on it should be fine. I really hope we don't adopt that model though. This has got Blackburn or Bolton written all over it.

Quite right that his first touch is far better than Vokes or Gray. Vokes seems to have used his frame more aggressively in the last few games ( and his game has improved) and has looked less of a lumbering giant.

From memory Trippier was certainly no better than Lowton at defending but from attacking aspect far superior. As said above different types of players. Spurs are spoilt for choice with attacking full backs.

The applause thing has been done to death and spoilt as a result. There should be a minutes silence for former players. I can't be there on Sunday but would have liked to have observed one for Peter Noble.

The official reason will probably because he hasn't played much football. If there's is a less creative player who does more tracking back and off the ball work ( which I think he picked up fairly quickly) then that player will start first.

I actually think the board were paranoid about being done over financially after the Judas and staff exit. They felt wounded by it and took what they thought was the low risk cautious option.

Appalling decision to give him the job. You can hardly blame him for taking it and he no doubt did his best. Doesn't deserve any abuse at all but the people who made that appointment got it badly wrong. Having said that anyone would have struggled after the Judas exit.

If had to go to a soulless shoebox Horwich type statement I wouldn't bother going. Our ground and location is steeped in history. I like walking through terraced streets to get to the ground. It helps make the experience. I do think the Bob Lord could do with an upgrade / increase in capacity.

30 m plus a player in our direction would be nice. The market shifted massively last summer so these are the going rates for these players. Exactly why we should look abroad or in lower leagues for talent. Let someone else pay the massive transfer fees and wages.
