Re: 'The Project'...
Fair enough, what’s interesting is that link has the term in the title but I listened to the first couple of minutes and Kompany doesn’t mention it. My point really is, I don’t think it’s been an over used term by anyone at the club. I don’t hear it rolled out in interview after interview. It’s jus...

'The Project'...
So where/how does it end you think? A few small step backs but ultimately a period of sustained success in the Premier League? Or slowly petering out and lulling to our sort of level pre 2013? Or, goodness forbid, anything worse. For me it could still go one of three ways - I'm not convinced either ...

Is the OP on a wind up or?... Losing two play-off finals on the bounce would be torturous. Can you not remember walking down Wembley Way after the final in 2009 and seeing how dejected the Sheff United fans were? Re: I’m so sick of Kompany
there is a reason there are levels in football, one of the key factors is concentration - the TOP players have it and rarely make mistakes but many gain it through experience - we have neither, it's amazing how surprised some are by a lot of things we have seen this season. For sure - that's a huge...

Re: I’m so sick of Kompany
Kompany has to take the blame for the decisions with recruitment, tactics and in game substitutions but the amount of individual mistakes the players have made you cannot blame him for them all. Not kompanys fault muric played that pass yesterday or that Trafford decided to come and claim for the b...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
A huge part of the problem is that one man holds so much power at the football club, and that man is a 37 year old novice with an ego the size of the training ground. Doesn’t help how Pace talks about him in the media either. He’s supposed to be answering to Pace but it appears to be the other way ...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
It could work but the dof and manager would have to be exeptionally well aligned for it to. I can’t see Kompany ever being under someone’s else’s control or asking their input. His recent team selections are all over the place like when I couldn’t win on football manager or something. Randomly just...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
The DOF usually chooses a lot of the players and the manager themselves in some setups. So the team manager usually becomes more of a coach for the players the dof has last say on but they get everyone’s feedback from owners to coaches. I’m not a fan of it tbh as usually the dof isn’t as good as th...

Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?
I said that VK needs to figure out if he wants to be a DoF or a manager, not that we should make him our DoF. I'm firmly of the view that we need a director of football/technical director/sporting director - but its not Kompany. Its someone who can challenge and peer review Kompany’s thinking (as He...

It's not absurd to argue that with quicker possession, moving the ball faster and pacey wingers we win both those games against established PL teams. We have a manager problem. It's an issue for the fanbase because in the end it's admitting that the fantasy is over. But no one can watch those games...

The Harry Kane conundrum... My take - he lacks the physicality to be able to play himself into a game when things aren't quite falling for him/the team like a striker such as Benzema, Suarez, Drogba etc can so isn't the type that can take a game by the scruff of the neck and make something happen. Berge, Odobert definitely.. I really want to keep Berge but he's shown versatility in his time in England (can effectively play in a 2 or a 3 in various roles) and is a pretty sure fire bet for any mid table PL team, Another PL team may want to take a chance on Traff as an understudy with the Uefa h...

The goals conceded just before half time/full time, along with the discipline record are tell tale signs of poor management tbh.
Odd occurrences can be put down to being coincidental but when it's a repeated, frequent pattern? Suggests that this is a problem.

Yep - it's the small details like that, that separate the good and the great players.
He definitely has a good long range pass on him but absolutely not suited to playing out through the lines with the sort of short & intricate passing/receiving ball skills needed.
