Re: Class of 2009
Reading at home that season never seen a much more one sided game they battered us chance after chance. The Beast was WORLD CLASS that night and thats no over reaction. Then we win it thanks to the little magician Robbie Blake. What id give for a player like him in our team today.

Re: Being in a lower league is much more enjoyable
Much rather see us score a 91st min winner in the p1ssing down rain at Tranmere than get spanked 5-0 against Man City.

Maine Road
The best UK football ground ever for me even though we always did pants at City.
These new grounds have destroyed football.

Being in a lower league is much more enjoyable
Cheaper. Better away games. More chance of winning something other than settling for survival. Easier to get tickets. Better kick off times. New teams to play. Newer grounds. More passionate fans and it pains me to say it but i miss playing the B@sards and Preston. The Premierleague is boring. Overh...

Re: Our away attendances this season
Its simple the Premierleague novelty has worn off. We have played all the biggest teams away numerous times now. There is no away day that excites me anymore other than B@stard Rovers. Its the norm for us now they arent as big of games as they would of been in our first PL season.

Re: Burnley related street names ?
One of my mates in Nottingham lives in an area where all the streets seem to be named after the moon landings. Apollo Drive, Armstrong Way, Aldrin Close etc. I get the feeling the people that pick these names just choose a theme and run with it. The Stoops Estate all the streets are named after pla...

Burnley related street names ?
Been doing some work on a house (one of the newish builds behind the Woodtop on Accrington Road) and noticed a street sign saying MARLON CRESCENT then the very next street is called BERESFORD COURT.
Keepmoat houses i think. Is it a tribute to our former keeper Marlon Beresford or just coincidence ??

Re: Our best ever non British/Irish 11
Goalkeeper is really tough - we've had a few non British/Irish but struggling to think of one better than Jensen - Kval, Cemmone (sp?), Penny. On limited viewing maybe Lindegaard? Mears, Cox, Diallo, Kalvanes Valois, Defour, Djemba Djemba, JBG Wood, Wells (or Barnes if he counts) Nik Michopolous ? ...

Our best ever non British/Irish 11
Could be quite difficult because we havent had many good foreign players but here goes... Jensen Cox Gnohere Bikey Kalvanes JBG Defour Hyde Gudjonsson Papadapoulos Wood Blood hell that was hard took me quite a while to think. Not a great 11 really is it. Is it time for us to sign better quality fore...

Harvey Barnes
Born in Burnley the son of former Claret Paul.
Currently on loan at WBA from Leicester.
Scored a sensational goal for WBA midweek against Sheff Wed which got him an England U21 call up.
Just scored again for WBA against Reading.
Worth a bid ?

Re: How long can we survive at this level ? What is our level ?
Fulham, Newcastle, Wolves, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham. All also our level. Not forgetting Huddersfield and Cardiff (also Premier League), or Swansea (League Cup winners) Add into that that 20 years ago Chelsea and Man City were neither here nor there. 20 years from now; who knows? Newcas...

How long can we survive at this level ? What is our level ?
Its going to happen one day. Luckily for us we have seen some of the best days at this football club. But in reality we cant compete with other teams in terms of fanbase and spending power. So when we do go down we shouldnt be angry or upset. We have been punching above our weight for a while now an...
