The drunkest I have ever been whilst watching a match. Spent a few hours in Kilburn before the match, drinking Long Island Ice Teas in the sunshine, before hopping on the Jubilee Line to Wembley.
Most of my memories of the match are from the DVD later.
Great day out!

Now’s the best time to be cycling. The weather is fine and the roads are shorn of the amount of motor vehicles that make it such a dangerous pastime.

I’ve seen loads of other walkers and other cyclists whilst I’ve been out and about on my wanderings and rides. There seems to be a fair level of camaraderie between people, too. It’s very rare not to get a nod, smile, or cheery wave(all at safe social distances). The fine weather has been a help, too.

When the WYC met in Bradford, last year, Roger Eli, who met up with us, said that John Francis was the hardest player he ever played with. He was a nice guy but really didn’t take any messing when the gloves came off.

It has been. Ma Beamish uses it almost every day for a walk. It appears the Landowner took it upon himself to close the field for “Coronavirus” reasons, claiming a right to do so that he didn’t actually have. It was closed for only a day.

Fredrick Law Olmsted, the man who designed New York’s Central Park, was inspired by a trip he’s made earlier to the first Municipal Park in Britain, in Birkenhead. The Park in Birkenhead had been designed by Joseph Paxton, the man who also designed the Crystal Palace in London’s Hyde Park.
