VAR was supposed to sort this nonsense out. Instead we've now got two referees getting it wrong and no explanation required. Both referees should have to explain that awful decision on Saturday just as they should for the Tim Krul one, when he double-punched Vydra in the head.

Wasn't Friend on VAR when Tarkowski was wrestled to the ground against Everton?
I thought that VAR would stop these awful decisions but it's made it more infuriating because they're still not giving us penalties after watching video replays.

I’d be more worried by the wrestling that went on every time City put a deadball into the box. Pep should have said EUFA must tell us if this is acceptable and I’ll get Dwayne Johnson in to coach my guys up to that standard. Tarkowski was wrestled to the ground by Doucoure against Everton. Any throw-in conceded within about thirty yards of the opposition's corner flags suddenly turn into a situation as dangerous as a free-kick.
Lazy comparisons to Stoke will no doubt intensify.

I find the idea of signing Cornet very odd. OL have been talking about selling some of their biggest assets since 2020 because of their sticky financial situation. I used to laugh about it at the time that we had both the quickest (John Francis) and slowest forwards in the division. If the pass didn't land at Ron's feet he didn't waste his energy trying to chase it, but he was a quality finisher.

Mind you, there wasn't much to cheer about. Forest had the makings of a good side though, especially when you consider that their unused sub was John Robertson.
