Should have probably had a penalty there, defender stepped across and blocked him. The bar set by VAR at this tournament is very high. I think it would have to be a truly catastrophic error before they will even check something.

I have heard this myth that they rotated the stadium 90 degrees fairly often and I have no idea where it has come from. As much as I detest cat 1 clubs being able to play an U23 side in the competition I think if we are able to be in it we should be. Would provide invaluable experience for our youth players development to be playing in competitive games against professionals.

Now the ESL idea is over for another year or two I am expecting the big six to push for an expanded champions league meaning the League cup will end (or at least will end for clubs in Europe) to give room to stuff more European games in. Think the league cups days are certainly now numbered.

Newcastle showed how making substitutions can win a game. If Dyche was Newcastle manager they wouldn’t have won that game. We were crying out for someone like cork in midfield on Sunday. Dyches reluctance to use substitutes costs us a lot of points over a season.
