Re: Play Cornet upfront alongside Wood?
Cornet has never really played no 10 as far as I know. He did play up front earlier in his career but is a winger (both sides) really.

Re: Cornet & Roberts
I think Dyche finds it easier to introduce wingers straight into the team compared with defenders, where mistakes are usually far more costly. There will also be so much more tactical knowledge required to play there as part of that unit (i.e, knowing when to leave for Pope, when to step up and so ...

Completely agree. The brightness of the blue on our badge would ruin it on a shirt like this. Having monochrome on the away or third caters for everyone’s tastes but personally think this is the nicest of all the kits this year, although they’re all good. Butlter & Leach return, Billings going back to Kent, while the rest of the useless bunch are given yet another chance, I despair at what these failures have to do to actually get dropped, far too cushy in the England set-up these days, and while that remains the case don't expect many series victor...

Thought he looks good but wasn’t involved too much. Looked decent going forward the few times he did. Quick and skilful. I noticed he looked particularly decent defensively, cutting off a lot of attacks. Can see why we wanted him with our style of play.

Phil Bardsley - can leave but don’t mind if he stays on reduced wages. Ashley Barnes - let go Aaron Lennon - see how he does this year - potentially keep as he is 4th choice and would mean there is less to do in summer window. Ben Mee - keep - should be possible. Erik Pieters - keep - should be easy...

It is possible to get the odd very good deal with players contracts out in the summer, but yes - the average deal must be a lot more costly than in summer. Let’s hope we don’t need to sign anyone then.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 3:32 pmHopefully won’t be targeting much in Jan. Not the window to be doing much if any business.

I also think Man u have zero chance of winning the league this year. In fact some of the received wisdom says that Ronaldo will even hinder them. I agree, he's not the same player now. For me JBG is a very neat footballer but I never feel like he's going to create anything. He lacks so much confidence in trying to go outside his man on his weaker right side as he doesn't have the pace to trouble the full back. Therefore it's all very predict...

Not sure how true any of this is. You might be reading a little bit too much into it. Dyche has said all along he would like to play a more attractive brand of football and that he is aligned with the owners.
Dyche sounded almost grateful to the owners for the cornet signing. Surprised even.

Steven Defour had 50 caps in the midfield of the number one nation. He was two cuts above. Let's hope the Cornet contribution exceeds it in time. Defours caps were long before we signed him though. Did you miss that it was Matt Lowton's shot that Chris Wood touched to score our goal? Lowton was definitely forward to make that shot. UTC Yes I did notice his shot at a corner. However, I did also notice that we attacked very little down the right hand side and we rely on our fullbacks for width.
