Another good idea might be to have an official standing alongside the touch line with a flag that he/she can wave in the air when that official judges a player to be offside. It’s groundbreaking but I’m sure it would work

Making technically correct decisions is not the be all and end all of football. I can live with referees making errors but it’s hard to accept all the bollocking about that VAR introduces. And still you get wrong decisions

Jon Moss takes a lot of stick, however, he is one of the referees who played at a decent level and he knows the game. Both pundits say the Man City sending off was harsh but the defender had quite clearly grabbed the attacker’s arm preventing him from heading the ball forwards.

Only last night I was watching TV when a footballer clearly committed a deliberate handball offence, stopping another footballer from having a scoring opportunity, yet, inexplicably, the first footballer carried on playing.
How do you explain that?

Last time I saw the Bay City Rollers was in the early 70s as I was on my way to the dentist in Burnley. They were running out of the Keirby Hotel and diving into a limousine. There was absolutely no one else around except me walking along Church Street.
