Re: Turf Moor from Leeds

Yeah mainly a midweek problem although even on a Saturday it feels like a full day mission. Both of the driving options - Via Aire valley or M62/ Calder valley - are fairly horrible.

Turf Moor from Leeds

I guess there are quite a few clarets from the Leeds area. Personally I’d go quite a bit if the transport was more appealing. Eg I’d take my lad to the Ipswich replay. But realistically the trains are crap and the drive is horrific and that’s enough to stop me ever going these days. Crap transpennin...

Re: Things you don't miss about "old" football

A few years ago I’d have said that I really missed 70s/80s football but really there’s not much to miss (apart from not being young anymore). The decrepit and dangerous stadia, the racism and homophobia, the poor standard of football. We might remember the atmospheres as being better but in reality ...

Another random one which springs to mind is a 3-2 away win at Tranmere in about 1998. I was checking the score updates on WAP on my mobile from a pub in Covent Garden. It was like the future had arrived.
