Surely Tom Lawrence has to be worth a look at re a wide berth or Lookman on loan if available. Clucas would offer decent utility but not entirely sure he's what is required.

We need two strikers if Gray goes, at least one should have pace - as it's a commodity we simply don't have, and I still think we need a no.10 type.
You can only assume we have replacements lined up in addition to that centre half and a wide player.

We've spent more money than at least 4 or 5 other Premier League teams. I don't think it can be properly judged until the end of the transfer window tbh. I think it depends if you think Boyd was essential to the way we play or not. I liked him, but with Brady, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Defour and Walters he's what known as "surplus to requirements". I didn't rate him as a footballer but then I don't think playing football was fundamental to his purpose....

The production line grinds to a halt when you stop producing. Craig Dawson would be 31 at the end of a 4 year contract. With our traditional approach of flogging our players once they get within 12 months of the end of our contract, there's not a cat in hell's chance we'd get our money back on him....

With Keane gone, we will concede more. We didn't score many last season; this year we really need to have a go at teams and score some goals, because we can't rely on a superstar at the back any more. I fully expect a lottery below 10th again. I'm confident we will have enough to avoid the drop though.
