Re: New Signings
I know they've lost a few player's but the core of that Huddersfield team played last season, they reached the playoff final, they've only lost two game's in the whole of 2022 and they were at home, we dominated them and with a decent striker last night we would of won 3 or 4 nil New manager, key p...

Re: Could we have done that with Pope and Mee
Sad to say that when in possession both would have “hoof-balled” it halfway up the pitch and it would have been a totally different game. I was very impressed with Muric - his distribution was superb, at times he became the extra outfield man at the back and when he had to come for the ball he came ...

Re: New Signings
Vince hinted that we are not the biggest side in the league and I think that means that we need more height at the back. Teams will test us out with set pieces and high balls into the box - as they attempted in the second half tonight (it was the only way they were likely to score). So I think a big...

This will be our toughest test - an away game early in the season. We will be under the microscope - is there a reason it’s a Friday night game at 8.00? TV coverage perhaps? We will see how our new team copes against a Prem standard team. It will be a good game to get out of the way early on and a p...

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
We have 7 (realistically 6) games before the transfer window slams shut. Therefore, as most business is carried out in the last days, it quite likely that some or all of our “at risk” players I.e. McNeil, Collins, Roberts, Cornet and Brownhill, could feature in the tricky opening games. This will al...

The intent is excellent but NONE of us know…yet. It’s all about gelling now and that’s why the retained, experienced, older pros, will be ESSENTIAL this next season. Our first 3 games will be a baptism of fire - Huddersfield (3rd), Luton (6th) and Watford (R). Just about as stiff a test for a rooki...

This might be too controversial for some, but why not open with Root. After all he’s found himself in that position on many occasions recently. He could fill the gap left by Alastair Cooke, has the right technique and temperament and would move the scoreboard along when it’s most needed. This would ...

What a shame Westwood is injured - I think that he could make a big, big difference in this league. A hard-working midfielder, an organiser and a potential captain, I hope that he can recover before the WC break to influence a very young team that will undoubtedly need an experienced leader.

Whereas Watford and Norwich will be regarded by most Championship clubs as “familiar foes”, Burnley will be seen as an (ex)“established Premier League” club and as such we will be a prize scalp. So, apart from the local derbies, our games will be hard fought “cup finals” and will be likely to attrac...

Tierney seemed to be biased throughout the game - every strong (but fair) tackle went Villa’s way, he missed the foul throw leading to their goal, he overruled our claims for a penalty and of course he was extremely quick with his red card. He also reacted badly to our penalty appeals and called Tar...

When do we get the decision - before or (more likely) after tomorrow’s game ??
For fairness they should review today so that Lowton (if cleared) could play a part tomorrow.
Wont happen though will it ?

Gudmondsson and Mee are out for the season and, in the absence of Westwood, Pieters would be extremely useful to beef up a tired midfield. Maybe Stephens could play a bit part there as well. Clearly a lazy journalist’s desperate attempt to upset the apple cart.
Looking at the article I don’t see the relevance of Michael Keane’s picture (without a caption). It stinks of a player being hung out to dry for the poor performances - much like Maguire at ManU.

Barnes is now our plan B. For me Vydra must start all the remaining games, he’s been involved in at least three of our recent winning goals. It looks like the injury that JR has been carrying has come back to haunt him, so the “big man / little man” combination seems to be the best starting lineup. ...

There is every reason to be positive, but the main worry for me is the current frailty of the bench. Gudmundsson, Westwood, Pieters, Mee all out for the remaining games. Sacked ?? Does a sacking (rather than by mutual consent) save the club a big pay-off? In any event his immediate staff have gone too, with immediate effect - so the y probably s...
