Re: 20 years ago today I missed out on a big scoop
I went to the bookies in Newcastle where I was at uni, to put a tenner on him scoring a hat trick vs Wigan, which was a massive amount of money for me then. After much rooting around in the back he gave me 10-1 the tight Geordie b@stard. Easy money.

The first game I went to I was taken into the 100 club and introduced to Roger Eli who I think had scored a brace against Peterborough (might be wrong) As a young lad I was in awe but will never forget those 5 minutes he took talking to the family I was with! I was a fan for life after that and it’s...

Just because a player sits on the bench doesn’t make them a bad signing and a waste of money. Circumstances dictate when they play. See Gibson and Tarkowski before him. Vydra too could step up if there were injuries and he got a run of games.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was Jeff Hendrick. What most influential in a bad way? For the whole 2018 Hendrick didn’t play in a single winning side whilst he was on the pitch despite making 29 appearances. We won a few games during that run but that was once he’d left the field. I’m pretty sure the only time we were safe when we had a cup match was away at City in the FA Cup two seasons ago and Dyche played a full “first choice” side.
So if we pick up a few more points before Peterborough we might go for it knowing that we’ve survived again.
