Shire Cruisers, Sowerby Bridge - Great idea for a few days break in Spring/Summer, Hebden Bridge is just a short cruise away and some excellent walks in the surrounding countryside. The pubs in Sowerby are very good too.

Sadly if you only have 16Gb total storage on your phone - you need a better phone. Most OS and Email apps combined will fill a 16Gb drive. Easy way on an iPhone is to attach the photo to an email sent to yourself, before sending you’ll be asked what size/detail you want to send. Just choose the nearest one under 2 mB. It would be interesting to know if the 12 giant wind turbines on the moors above the town provide enough electricity to ‘power’ the town including EV’s.

We could be one of the ‘greenest’ self-sufficient towns in the UK. Now THAT would be something to be proud about!

Anyone ‘disappointed’ with their petrol car mpg (and are not yet ready for e-changeover) might consider the Nissan 1.5 dCi diesel engine (only available second hand now).

I run a Qashqai 1.5 dCi automatic which averages 55 mpg which is exceptional for quite a large family car.

The common Rowan (Mountain Ash) is a beautiful tree but it can grow up to 50 feet when mature, so be very careful on it’s positioning if you decide to plant one in your garden. Some sound advice from personal experience...

Make sure to go online and check what it’s MATURE height and spread (width) is. A 5 metre (16 ft) mature height should be ok and might avoid falling out with your neighbours (in a big way) in the future.
